Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Janice Taylor was born and raised in Owen Sound, and graduated in physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2000. She has practiced in orthopedics, pediatrics, and for the last 9 years, she has worked as a pelvic health therapist in Port Elgin, ON. She treats anything related to the pelvis in women and men: incontinence, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, interstitial cystitis, prolapse, pregnancy discomforts, labour and delivery prep, postpartum recovery, prostatitis, hysterectomy and post-prostatectomy rehabilitation..the list goes on.

She believes in a holistic approach to health and works in concert with many practitioners: naturopaths, massage therapists, psychologists, chiropractors, osteopaths, yoga instructors and more. She also uses many different modalities including acupuncture, pain education, guided meditation, myofascial release, & strengthening to help clients meet their goals. Her objectives are to educate and empower patients as they have alway held the power to heal themselves.

She co-created Empowered Childbirth Education with Melissa Pinnegar, a Pelvic Health Yoga instructor. This course is run quarterly to help educate expecting couples on all the things they can do prenatally to support the birthing and postpartum process. She strongly feels educating moms about the birth process and postpartum is vital to a positive birth experience and proper recovery. It is one of her favourite things to teach!

In her spare time she researches and educates health practitioners on essential oils and takes as many pelvic health courses as she can! Her passion is educating people about health and wellness so they can be empowered to maintain their own wellbeing. She is a mom to 2 busy kids and an attention-seeking chocolate lab.
